$YOU

Privacy policy

Effective 27 September 2026 · updated for local leaderboards, invites and the shop

$YOU is a daily journal that turns your day into a stock price. It works without an account, and most of what you put into it never leaves your iPhone. This policy explains what stays on your device, what reaches our server if you choose to join the network, and how to delete it.

What stays on your iPhone

The network (optional)

Nothing is sent to our server unless you tap Join on $STOCKS (or Create your account in Settings) and agree to the community rules. Joining creates an anonymous account, with no email, phone number or password. After that we store:

We use this only to run these features. We don't sell it, use it for advertising or track you across apps and websites, and the app contains no analytics or advertising software.

Who sees it: people who add your ticker (only if you've made it findable) see what you publish. People on $STOCKS see your ticker, display name, public price and league position. Your habit counts and paychecks are visible only to you. People you block can't see you, and you can't see them.

Service providers

The network is run on Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in the United States (Ohio). Apple provides the on-device AI and Health frameworks, which don't send your data to us.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can also email us to ask for a copy or deletion of your data.

Children

$YOU isn't directed at children under 13, and the network is for people aged 13 and over.

Security

All traffic to our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Database rules mean each account can read and change only what it's allowed to.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects what leaves your device, the app will tell you first.
