The Human Collective does not require an account and does not use advertising or cross-app tracking.
The app displays cultural objects, images, source links, and archive text from public and open-access cultural sources. The app may request this content from our content service so it can show the current daily piece and archive collections.
Saved items are stored locally on your device. We do not receive, sell, or share your saved items.
If you choose to submit a creation to the Collective, we receive the photo, the display name you provide, your significance statement, and your confirmation that you created the work and permit us to display it. Submissions are private while they are reviewed. If approved, the photo, display name, and significance statement become public in the app.
To prevent submission abuse without requiring an account, the app creates a random installation identifier. Our service stores a one-way hash of that identifier and may process and hash the network address used for the request. These values are used for rate limiting, reporting, and blocking abusive submissions; they are not displayed publicly or used for advertising.
Rejected and removed submission images are deleted from storage during moderation. Moderation records may be retained as needed to prevent repeated abuse, handle reports, and document publishing decisions.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
If you enable daily reminders, notifications are scheduled on your device. We do not collect notification history or reminder activity.
The app does not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking.
